After last week's surprise departure of striker Antoñín, Malaga have moved quickly in the transfer market to snap up winger Aarón Ñíguez on a free transfer.
Aarón, who last played for Malaysian side Johor, returned to Spain in January after an unfruitful spell. The 30-year-old had been training with Lugo until this week but after the club announced that they couldn't complete the signing because of their financial limitations, Malaga quickly pounced.
The winger, who can play on either flank, has a lot of league experience, racking up 129 appearances in Segunda and 49 in Primera for clubs such as Elche, Almeria, Real Oviedo, Tenerife and Celta Vigo.
Following Granada's 'emergency' signing of Antoñín last week, Malaga had one squad place available to fill according to La Liga rules, although he must earn the minimum wage (less than 40,000 euros until the end of the season).
