There's no room at the inn once again after Malaga completed the signing of winger Tete Morente on Wednesday night.

The 23-year-old tore up his contract with Lugo to join on a free transfer for the remainder of this season and the next.

The player, who came through the ranks at Atlético Madrid before shining at Atlético Baleares and Gimnástic, had a standout season at Lugo last year before falling out of favour this season. Despite that, he still made 16 appearances.

Tete Morente, who can play on both wings but is strongest on the left, joins on the minimum salary permitted by La Liga (40,000 euros until the end of the season). He has filled the last remaining available spot in the squad, left vacant by Lorenzo González's departure.

After several outgoings this month, Malaga have sealed their future until the end of the season at the very least. However, according to La Liga chief Javier Tebas, the club still has to raise a further two million euros "or they won't be able to pay their players' wages or meet their obligations with the taxman".

Tete Morente's arrival, however, means that Keko can now move on and the club is close to sealing an exit for him to Deportivo La Coruña.

As the transfer deadline approaches, midfielder José Rodríguez joined Fuenlabrada on Thursday, despite president Sheikh Abdullah Al-Thani's objections, albeit without an option to buy.

It is also understood that the club is also entertaining offers for midfielder Keidi Bare and forward Antoñín.
