  • A last-minute winner from Elías ensured David Cubillo's side upstaged Malaga and made it past the second round

Euphoric Marbella fans invaded the pitch to celebrate with their players as a late goal secured their passage to the third round of the Copa del Rey on Tuesday evening.

The hosts had the better of the opening stages of the game, but it was their opponents from Salamanca who took the lead, with a header from Jesús with half an hour on the clock.

The heavily rotated Marbella side found their way back into the game a few minutes after the break. After an excellent save by the home side's stand-in keeper Santomé, the hosts went up the other and and earned a corner, from which Dani Pérez nodded home to level matters.

After Marbella's Manel had a goal ruled out, David Cubillo brought on Samu Delgado and Óscar García in an attempt to get the all-important winner. The man who would secure victory was in fact Elías, who surprised Taliby with a free-kick to the near post in the dying minutes, to the home fans' delight.
