Luis Ángel Maté, the cyclist from Marbella, is not ruling anything out ahead of the Vuelta de España, which starts this Saturday in Torrevieja (Alicante) and ends on 15 September in Madrid.
Organisers have announced the provisional list of cyclists registed for the tour, and Maté's name is included under the French Cofidis team. His final participation, however, is yet to be confirmed.
This follows Maté's serious fall suffered in the first stage of the Tour de Pologne around Poland. The cyclist received a deep wound to the head, and required several stitches as a result.
Just three weeks ago, Maté's place on the starting line was in serious doubt. The injury and various medical tests resulted in him missing large chunks of his training schedule.
However, against all odds, Maté is now back in the Sierra Nevada with the rest of his Cofidis teammates, preparing for the race ahead.
