The countdown to the new season began for Malaga Femenino on Wednesday as the players reported back following their summer holidays.

The players arrived at La Rosaleda stadium early in the morning to begin a series of physical examinations before they were able to take to the field once again.

On Wednesday, two new signings were announced: forward Judith Acosta, 26, from Zaragoza and 20-year-old winger Cintia Hormigo from Pozoalbense.

The last expected signing is imminent, that of midfielder Edna Imade who is of Nigerian descent but was raised in Seville.
