As expected, Malaga captain Federico Ricca is set to complete a move away from the club this summer, to Belgian side Bruges.
The Uruguayan left-back will activate a clause in his contract which allows him to join a first division side while Malaga are still in Segunda. He didn't do so last year, attracted by the promise of the armband, but after the club's failed promotion bid, will head to Belgium.
Though this is a loan deal, it is highly unlikely that the 24-year-old will return with his contract expiring in June 2020. Though a loss to the squad, his wages were one of the highest in the group so will give Malaga room to manouevre in the transfer market - when Al-Thani signs off on it.
