More than 500 runners participated in the tenth edition of the San Isidro Solidarity Race held in Cártama last month. The annual street race raised 1,200 euros for Cártama Incluye, an organisation that helps raise awareness of the problems faced by the town's underprivileged families.
Serious athletes and fun runners participated in the five-kilometre race, which was organised by the IES Valle del Azahar secondary school and Cártama town hall.
The money was delivered to Ana Cuenca, representative of the organisation, during a presentation attended by Mayor of Cártama Jorge Gallardo, and the director of the IES Valle del Azahar, Juan Antonio Jiménez.
The mayor thanked the runners and participating associations for "continuing to participate in an event that is organised with the sole purpose of helping the people who need it most".
