Sponsored walk raises almost 2,000 euros for Sarah's fund

Organised by Our Bar and Walking Football Spain, the 8km walk raised money for the local girl who lost her limbs to sepsis

The sponsored walk organised jointly by Our Bar in Calahonda and Walking Football Spain in collaboration with the Somos Tu Ola association on Sunday resulted in a massive collection of 1,746.30 euros for the fund set up for Marbella girl Sarah Almagro who lost her limbs to sepsis.

The warm weather by the beach at Our Bar in Calahonda didn't deter walkers, paying five euros each and decked out in Sarah's favourite colours of blue and orange, who set off at a steady pace and arrived as planned at Bar Tuah in La Cala de Mijas on time.

Sarah herself was there for the countdown, inspiring the walkers as they set off on the eight-kilometre route.

Most returned to Our Bar at approximately 4pm when the fun continued with bingo, a prize raffle, buffet and karaoke.

Youngster Josh Boscowan also agreed to have his long hair shaved off to raise money for the fund. The task was completed by local barber Tommy of The House Hairdressers in Calahonda and Josh secured a sponsorship total of 600 euros.
