Liverpool were crowned champions of Europe for a sixth time on Saturday after running out 2-0 winners against Tottenham in the Champions League final held in Madrid's Wanda Metropolitano stadium.

Mohamed Salah gave the Reds the lead from the penalty spot in the second minute before substitute Divock Origi calmed the nerves with a second late in the second half.

Spurs had a flurry of late chances but were denied on several occasions by Liverpool's Brazilian keeper Alisson who was named man of the match.

With almost 100,000 English fans descending on the capital, authorities and locals were in agreement over the good-natured behaviour of supports.

Overall, it was relatively incident free with only five arrests made.
