This centuries-old tradition, with its roots back in Phoenician times, returns in 2019, bigger than ever. The Liga de Jábegas, a series of regattas involving boats traditionally used for fishing in the area, will run from 25 May until the end of August, with a total of 13 races and a new competitor.
The Benalmádena regatta makes a return this year while students from the provincial school will take to the water for the first time.
This eighth edition was officially presented at the Diputación building in Malaga on Wednesday where it was announced that the first regatta, with four competing categories, will take place at El Candado (Malaga) on 25 May.
