The season is going to finish too soon for Marbella. Now on a fine run of form, unbeaten in 11 matches, there aren't enough games left to make up for the damage inflicted at the start of the season to make the play-offs.
On Sunday 24 March, David Cubillo's side ran out comfortable 2-0 winners against promotion chasers San Fernando at the Estadio Antonio Lorenzo. Despite the visitors getting off to the better start, Samu Delgado got the go-ahead goal against the run of play in the 35th minute. The winger took the ball under his spell 35 metres from goal before unleashing an unstoppable volley past keeper Rubén Gálvez who couldn't get back to his goalline fast enough.
With the lead, and Añón on the field in place of the injured Paulo Vítor, Marbella enjoyed greater control in the second half.
Samu Delgado continued to be a menace to the San Fernando backline and spurned a number of chances before laying one on a plate for Añón to double the lead the 25 minutes to go.
There could have been more but Marbella, and especially N'Diaye, were wasteful in front of goal and had to settle for two.
