Marbella were unable to come home with a win against El Ejido on Sunday. They missed the chance to secure what seemed an easy three points, as the Almeria side had not won a match for 14 weeks. The tie leaves Marbella in ninth position, with 40 points, nine above the danger zone, but they should not get too comfortable.

Meanwhile El Ejido had been set on a win on Sunday to help their very delicate situation after four weeks in the relegation zone on the Segunda B Group IV table.

The home side started the match with several approaches on the Marbella goal. Emilio Cubo stole the ball from a Marbella player, and tried his luck from the edge of the box without success. Two minutes earlier, Marbella player Vitor had taken a powerful shot, nearly making it 0-1. The shot hit the post.

El Ejido had two more clear chances on goal before the end of the first half, despite the Costa del Sol sides greater possession.

The dynamic of the game changed little in the second half. Despite their best efforts, El Ejido couldnt break the Marbella defence.

Marbellas forward, Vitor, on the other hand, was causing havoc for the rivals defence. Every time the 19-year-old Brazilian touched the ball he created danger, but was unable to convert the chances into goals.

In the final stage of the match the fatigue in many players was evident. El Ejido substituted Rubio in the 69th minute for Ezequiel, freshening up the midfield. Despite last minute attempts, neither team had the energy to bring it home.
