After rumours started to spread of an attack by Malaga sporting director José Luis Caminero on Cordoba CF president Jesús León in the executive box during Saturday's derby, the host club decided to publish a statement to clear up what happened.

"After the Malaga equaliser, José Luis Pérez Caminero reacted by banging the glass on the front of the box at El Arcángel," the statement read. "After being reprimanded for this, Mr Pérez Caminero decided to leave the box, shouting insults and expletives at the Cordoba directors, among whom was the president."

The statement concluded by condemning Caminero's behaviour which it says "was contrary to that of the Malaga fans which, as always, was exemplary".
