  • The event, which will take place on Sunday 24 March, is expected to bring together aroung 7,500 participants

Demand for subscriptions for the Malaga Half Marathon, offically called the Media Maratón Teatro Soho CaixaBank Ciudad de Málaga, is higher than ever this year after a change in route was announced by organisers.

Instead of leaving from the athletics stadium, the race will start and end in the city centre, in the Parque de Málaga, and take in a flatter route than in previous editions.

Organisers announced this week that just 600 places were left for this year's edition on Sunday 24 March.

Places have been filling up faster than usual and it is expected that the remainder will be taken up in the final days before the event.

A total of 7,500 people are expected to take part in the 21-kilometre race, this year in its 29th edition, around the city centre
