Femenino find chances hard to come by against unbeaten Barça

Despite their 4-0 defeat on Saturday, the Blue and Whites finish the year 12th in Spain's top flight in women's football

Malaga Femenino suffered a humbling defeat in their last game of the year as Barcelona ran out rampant 4-0 winners on Saturday.

Their visitors, the only side in La Liga Iberdrola to finish the first half of the season still unbeaten, controlled the match with one attack after another, going into the break two goals to the good.

The game, in Malaga's Francisco Romero stadium, saw the side's best attendence yet, with around 1,000 fans in the stands.

The support did little for the hosts, however, who despite conceding another two in the second 45, nevertheless finish the year 12th in the league of 16.

Their next game is an Andalusian derby away to Betis Balompié on Saturday 5 January.
