Hundreds of fun runners are expected to participate the fourth edition of the San Silvestre de Torremolinos, a non-competitive street race held annually to help underprivileged families in danger of social exclusion.
When. New Year's Eve at midday.
Start. Torremolinos town hall, Plaza de Blas Infante.
Requirements. Bring one kilo of non-perishable food and register at www.torremolinos/pmdt or on the morning of the event.
The race, which will officially close the town's calendar of sporting events for 2018, will start at the town hall building in Plaza de Blas Infante at midday on New Year's Eve and continue through the streets of Torremolinos.
The event is free and open to runners of all ages: the only requirement is that participants donate one kilo of non-perishable food, which will be distributed among local aid organizations.
Those taking part, whether seasoned athletes or fun runners, are asked to dress in festive costumes and prizes will be given for the most inventive designs.
Those wishing to take part can register online or from 10.30am on the morning of the event.
