Marbella fell to their second consecutive league defeat on Sunday, in what was quite possibly their worst showing of the season so far.
Padilla's side started and finished the game slowly and were punished in the 20th minute from Recreativo Granada's first effort on goal. Despite a warning minutes before with a similar move, the hosts still allowed Héctor, the smallest man on the pitch, to steal a march at the near post to head home a corner.
Six minutes later, Marbella were given an unexpected lifeline as Hongla received his marching orders for two yellow cards in the space of seconds. The first was for a foul; the second for his vociferous protests afterwards.
The hosts then spurned several clear chances which fell to Elías, Añón and Juanma - chances they would later regret passing up as Granada's second team shut up shop in the second half.
Padilla brought on forwards Montero and Mustafá in a double change in the 53rd minute as the side attempted to work the ball into wide areas before crossing. However, the lack of rhythm displayed meant that they couldn't carve out any further chances and instead went two goals behind when a loose pass from Cruz was punished as Jean Carlos scored on the counter-attack.
Unfortunately for the around 700 fans inside the Antonio Lorenzo stadium, there was no fightback and Marbella are just a point outside the relegation zone.
