The World Cup may still be in full swing, but Malaga's players, barring Youssef En-Nesyri who has been in Russia representing Morocco, will be back to work within the next week.

Preseason training, the club has announced, will start on 9 July but the players will be expected back before that to carry out the usual physical examinations and meet with new head coach Juan Ramón Muñiz for the first time.

The players will start their preseason in the installations beside La Rosaleda stadium as the pitch is relaid in preparation for the new season. The work will continue on home soil for the first few weeks before the team heads abroad at the end of July to finish their preparations with a series of friendly matches, though neither the destination nor the opposition have been officially announced yet.
