Young Malaga tennis star Alejandro Davidovich's Wimbledon dream was over before it began as he crashed out in two sets in the second qualifying round on Monday. The 19-year-old (348th in the ATP rankings) lost at the hands of veteran Canadian Peter Polansky (30, and in 110th place).

Last year's Wimbledon Junior champion Davidovich didn't start the game well but he was able to react and after going 2-0 down, levelled it and matched Polansky through to 5-5. However, the youngster lost his serve and this proved fatal, with the Canadian winning the first set 7-5.

In the second, the contest wasn't so equal; Davidovich had the set level at 2-2 but after back-to-back breaks for Polansky, experience told and the Canadian ran away with the contest. It finished 7-5, 6-2.
