If they are to maintain any hope of promotion to Segunda, Marbella will have to overturn a two-goal deficit after defeat in Galicia in the first leg of the first play-off round against Celta B on Sunday.

Two goals in quick succession in the first half condemned the Costa side, despite them maintaining possession for much of the second 45.

Celta B, with Brais Méndez back in the side after his spell with the first team in La Liga, had the early chances. Méndez himself tried his luck from distance but his effort whistled just wide of the post, moments after Wilfred in the Marbella goal pulled of a remarkable save from a ferocious ball across goal by Eckert.

After just 14 minutes, the hosts had the breakthrough as Drazic converted Álex Serrano's corner at the far post.

Just three minutes later, it was two. Juan Hernández beat Carlos Julio to the ball to slot home Kevin's cross.

Marbella, however, fought back but Sotres was equal to Corpas' double strike inside the area.

Visiting captain Añón also came close; his strike from range only narrowly missed the target.

The hosts kept up this pressure in the second half but couldn't claw a goal back. Catena had the best chance but his header was cleared off the line by Kevin.

Substitute Chus Hevia also came within a whisker but with his side piling on the pressure, they were ultimately grateful to Wilfred that it wasn't 3-0.

The second leg will take place at the Municipal stadium in Marbella on Sunday. Kick off is at noon.
