Forward Michael Santos, who has scored 16 goals in Segunda on loan at Sporting Gijón this year, is wanted back at La Rosaleda next year to provide competition up front for youngster Youssef En-Nesyri.
Despite being one of three players whose wages won't be halved because of relegation, Malaga want him to return to the club having already adapted to the division.
The futures of wingers Chory Castro and Maxime Lestienne are less clear, however. The club would like to keep both players, but the former, whose contract is expiring, has recently publicly stated that he had no appetite to play in Segunda and is understood to be contemplating a return to his first club Nacional. Lestienne, meanwhile, has become a fan favourite in his brief time at the club but his wage demands are too high.
