With Málaga CF in its current delicate situation, a lack of discipline cannot be tolerated - as winger Javi Ontiveros has discovered to his cost.
The 20-year-old has been sent on an “indefinite period of reflection” after an accumulation of disciplinary issues, none of which are considered serious. Sources close to the camp say that he has recently broken the internal code of conduct but that this decision is not as a direct result of that.
Ontiveros will train seperately from the main group for a period of time that has not yet been confirmed. However, he can use this time to continue his recovery from the pubis injury which has hampered his campaign so far.
Throughout his fledgling career, Ontiveros has been considered something of a rebel, but this summer he graduated from the youth set-up, taking the 17 shirt from former captain Duda, and is expected to be part of the club's long-term plans.
