Studs and Stilettos Ladies FC finished third (out of twelve teams) in the Femenino LF7 - Malaga (C.D. Naturaleza y Deporte), with 51 points giving them their highest finish since the league began in 2013.
Postponed fixtures meant they faced Alhaurín de La Torre B - a team who had only been beaten once before in two seasons - in their final two games of the season.
A daunting task but the SAS ladies rose to the challenge and seized four points from the two games, with a thrilling 2-1 win at home followed by a well-fought 3-3 draw in Alhaurín last Wednesday night.
The 2-1 victory at the start of April meant the team fighting for top spot needed at least a point against SAS in their final game of the season.
Amanda Lewis, SAS club organiser, or soccer mum, said: To get a win and a draw against the league winners shows our level of determination as a team. Its been a fantastic fifth year for SAS under our first ever female coach.
Elishia Hartley continues to play for the team, despite taking over as coach last year. The player-coach said it was hard to put into words how impressed and proud she is of the whole team; I asked for 100 per cent and got 110!
SAS are now taking part in a cup competition where they will look to prepare for next season and introduce newer players to competitive games.
Training with SAS takes place at Campo Suel, Fuengirola, on Wednesday evenings from 8.15pm to 10pm. All abilities are welcome.
