Spanish infrastructure and energy technology company Abengoa said it won an $11.5 million contract to build three 109-kilometre transmission lines in the northern Mexican state of Chihuahua. Mexico's Federal Electricity Commission, or CFE, signed the contract with Abengoa for construction of the three power lines and a 115 KW substation.

Patagonia
A Chilean army helicopter on Thursday rescued the three Spanish mountaineers who had been trapped on San Valentin mountain in Patagonia for three days after a snowstorm left them without any support equipment. The three climbers are in good health, although one of them suffered slightly and briefly from hypothermia.
