Andalucía has added 1,197 new cases of Covid-19 coronavirus this Friday, 26 February, a figure slightly lower than the 1,256 the day before and well down on the 2,293 seven days ago, according to the daily data provided by the regional government.
The Junta’s Minister of Health, Jesús Aguirre, also reported that 33 deaths have been registered, well below the 58 registered this Thursday and the 69 on Friday of last week.
The cumulative incidence rate in Andalucía has fallen again to 196.5 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days, which is 17.7 points down on Thursday’s rate (215.2) and 144.7 points down on seven days ago (341.2).
According to the data provided by Aguirre, the region has simultaneously dropped below the benchmark of 2,000 patients with Covid in hospital and from the 500 patients in an intensive care unit.
On Friday the region reported 1,985 coronavirus patients in hospital, 202 less than the day before, and 483 admissions to an intensive care unit, 20 less than the day before.
The 33 deaths in the latest 24-hour period are the lowest figure in the last four days after 58 on Thursday, 93 on Wednesday and 100 on Tuesday, although they do exceed the 11 on Monday.
The 1,197 positives test for Covid-19 are slightly lower than the 1,256 on Thursday and the 1,311 on Wednesday, but almost double the 634 on Tuesday and 650 on Monday.
