The so-called 'British variant' of coronavirus now makes up an estimated one in five of the current infections in Spain, Health minister Carolina Darias said on Thursday.

"There's a big presence of this variant, as there is in other countries. But, although we believe it could be around 20 per cent nationally, there are big differences between the regions," she told a committee of MPs.
