The president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, has sent a message of hope in a Tweet posted on social media today (Ash Wednesday).
The date marks the beginning of Lent and, with it, the countdown to a Holy Week (Semana Santa) that, for the second year in a row, will be celebrated without public processions on the streets of Andalucía due to the coronavirus health crisis.
“A new time will come in which we will live as before. To enjoy life as we always did, the streets, the people, the traditions," said Juanma Moreno on his Twitter account, continuing "Today is Ash Wednesday, today Lent begins. I hope it will be the last one that is so rare and unusual.”
