Primark, the Irish low-cost fashion firm, is boosting its presence in Spain with the opening of new stores in San Fernando (Cádiz), Girona, San Sebastián, Madrid, Bilbao, Vigo and Marbella which will create 650 jobs, according to the company.
The fashion brand continues to grow in Spain with the new outlets, giving it 57 stores in the national market.
The Cadiz store, which will be located in the Bahía Sur shopping centre in San Fernando, will have 3,000 square metres of space and is scheduled to open later this year. The store in Girona’s Espai Girones shopping centre will have more than 3,700 square metres, which is distributed over two floors.
Primark will open a new flagship store in Madrid, the ninth in the region, which will be located on Calle Conde de Peñalver, in the emblematic Salamanca Cinema building. The Girona and Madrid stores are scheduled to open their doors at the end of 2022.
The San Sebastián store will be located in the new extension of the Garbera shopping centre and will have more than 3,900 square metres of retail space, over two floors.
Primark has also indicated that it is confident of opening the already announced stores in Bilbao, Vigo and Marbella later this year.

The general director of Primark in Spain, Carlos Inacio, said, "We are very happy to be able to offer our 'Incredible Fashion at Incredible Prices' to even more customers in Spain with these seven new stores in the country."
"Spain was the first major market for Primark in Western Europe more than a decade ago and we are delighted to open seven new stores in new locations as part of our continued expansion," he said.
Inacio said that these store openings "will create more than 650 job opportunities, which will have a significant positive impact on the local economies where we operate".
