The Vitalia Parque Alcosa elderly care centre, in Seville, is currently facing an outbreak of coronavirus that accounts for a total of 62 confirmed cases of the disease and the deaths of 15 of the elderly users, according to Europa Press sources at the Junta de Andaucía.

The outbreak was detected in January and the latest data, updated last Tuesday (2 February), shows a total of 62 confirmed cases of infection in the centre for the elderly that has 161 places for residents and 40 in the day centres.

During this third wave of Covid-19, Seville is has an incidence rate of 651.6 cases per 100,000 inhabitants during the last 14 days, with 4,505 new cases of infection in the same period and 545 deaths since the pandemic began.
