The rain in Spain will return for the weekend with arrival of storm Hortensia – hot on the heels of Filomena and Gaetán.
Forecasters are warning that it will arrive on Friday and bring heavy rain and strong gusts of wind across much of the Spanish mainland the Balearic Islands.
The storm will continue during the weekend, according to Spain’s state weather agency, Aemet.
It is expected that downpours will be particularly heavy in Galicia and in mountainous, inland areas in the south of the peninsula. Snow is only likely at high altitudes.
Forecasters predict that wind gusts will be very strong and affect many areas of the mainland and the Balearic Islands.
Aemet has said that the storms will probably pass by next Tuesday with more settled weather then arriving.
