The president of the regional government, Juanma Moreno, announced this Tuesday that Andalucía is to reactivate the 'Plan 4,500' to increase hospital bed numbers and offer "more than 15,200 conventional beds and 2,600 in the ICU" to deal with the increase in hospitalisations for Covid-19.
Andalucía would increase its hospital capacity from just over 12,000 conventional beds and 1,200 intensive care beds to a total of 15,200 conventional beds and 2,600 ICU beds.
Moreno made the announcement on social media saying that the "force" of the third wave was "sending the curve vertical". However, he added: "We are preparing for it.”
La fuerza de la tercera ola hace que la curva crezca en vertical. Nos preparamos para ello: #Andalucía aprueba el Plan 4.500, que habilita hasta más de 15.200 camas convencionales y 2.600 en UCI.
