Consumers with an allergy or intolerance to milk across Spain have been warned not to eat a chocolate cake this has been incorrectly labelled.

Analysis of the product has discovered the presence of milk that has not been declared on the label.

In November Spanish food safety agency (Aesan) first issued an alert about the ‘Panadería’ brand product sold in supermarkets.

This week, Aesan has received new information from the region of Madrid regarding a new batch of the same product.

As a precautionary measure, it is recommended that those consumers with an allergy or intolerance to milk who may have the product in their homes refrain from consuming it.

The 250g Panadería product is described on the label as ‘chocolate cake without added sugars and sweeteners'. The batches affected are 273 and 294 with best consumed before dates of 12/28/2020 and 01/18/21.
