Madrid has decided to reduce the maximum number of people who can meet during the most important festive dates (24, 25 and 31 December, and 1 and 6 January) from ten to six. In addition, these six people must belong to, at most, ‘two cohabiting nuclei.’
The regional government, however, has vowed it will keep its borders open for family and friends to enter and leave during the holidays, and will authorise hospitality industry to remain open, with current restrictions, so as not to hit the economy further.
