Queen Letizia made a solo official visit to Seville on Wednesday to attend a conference on tourism.

She had expected to be joined by King Felipe, but the monarch went into quarantine this week for ten days after coming into close contact with a person with coronavirus.

Declaring the Tourism Innovation Summit open, the queen said that Spain "is a world leader in the tourism industry" due to the "dedication and excellence of its professionals and the immense natural, cultural, culinary and social history".

The Andalusian president, Juanma Moreno, highlighted the "trustworthiness" of the tourism sector and its "ability" to innovate.
