Friday's figures show slight rise in Covid-19 deaths and new cases in Spain

  • Confirmed recovery figures for Spain have reached 131,148 patients, with 2,653 more reported on Friday

The daily figures offered by the government on Friday showed a slight increase in the day-on-day number of deaths related to Covid-19: 229 fatalities, 16 more than Thursday.

This takes the total number of deaths related to coronavirus, according to the government's official figures, to 26,299. This is the third consecutive day that deaths have returned to figures above 200.

The new confirmed cases by PCR tests show 222,857 have caught the virus in Spain since the start of the health crisis.

Friday's figure contributed 1,095 new cases to the total, an increase of 754 on the previous day.

The daily infection rate, 0.49%, was also up slightly but remains below the red line of 1%
