Spain's coronavirus figures have spiked again this Tuesday after the previous day's figures pointed to a downward trend in the spread of the disease.
Despite a new record number of deaths reported on Tuesday morning (849 in one day), the government maintains its view that Spain has reached its peak of infection and the virus is closer to being controlled.
The high figure could be due to numbers accumulating over previous days being lumped together in Tuesday's report, bringing the total Covid-19 death toll up to 8,189.
The increase in the number of confirmed cases of infection was also up on Tuesday when there were 9,222 more patients. This puts the country's official total close to the 95,000 mark, 94,417.
