Protesters blocking a motorway in northern Catalonia this week have caused millions of euros worth of damage and lost business for transport companies.
On Monday and Tuesday the AP-7 motorway at the French border was blocked and on Wednesday the same road was shut outside Girona.
The radical protests were organised in reaction to the prison sentences of secessionist politicians and leaders and timed with the general election results. The groups involved, Democratic Tsunami and member groups of the CDR, organised the actions on social media.
Meanwhile the president of the regional government, Quim Torra, has failed to condemn the action. On Thursday it was revealed that a car owned by his daughter had reportedly tried to block the main AVE rail line in the same area.
Business leaders have warned about lost commerce.
