The woman found guilty last week of the premeditated murder of eight-year-old Gabriel Cruz in February 2018 has been sentenced to Spain's longest possible term in prison.
Ana Julia Quezada is the first woman to be given the permanent reversible sentence that was introduced in 2015 and so far has only been applied ten times. It means that she will be held for at least 25 to 35 years and only released if a court is satisfied she is no longer a danger.
