  • The measure aims to reduce pollution in the city by charging cars to enter

The mayor of Barcelona, Ada Colau, is studying measures to charge a toll for cars to enter the city in order to reduce pollution.

Tolls are already charged in some world cities, including London.

Colau has said all local authorities had to work together to reduce the problem of pollution in the city and that infrastructure such as the port or airport couldn't "keep expanding indefinitely".

She said that she "wouldn't hesitate" to do the necessary.
