The high profile ERE trial, in which two former Andalusian presidents are among 21 defendants accused of being involved in irregular redundancy subsidies, came to an end on Monday.

Manuel Chaves and José Antonio Griñán face a ten-year ban on holding public office and a five-year prison sentence, respectively.

The trial has taken more than a year with 152 sessions. A sentence is not expected until next summer.
