Hundreds of the thousands of people joined a demonstration in Barcelona on Saturday to call for the release of the former ministers of the Catalan government currently being held in Madrid prisons.
The demonstration was supported despite the air of perplexity currently surrounding the secessionist movement, caused by the different strategies of their leaders.
There have been calls for the politicians who led the independence drive to tell the truth about the current situation, especially as all parties have, apparently, accepted the regional elections 21 December.
Calling elections was one of the measures taken by prime minister Mariano Rajoy when he activated article 155 of the constitution to take control of the Catalan government after the unilateral declaration of independence on 27 October.
The pro-independence movement's immediate plans include a rally that promises to fill Brussels on 7 December.
