An annual report has ranked Spain as 17th out of the 28 EU countries in a 'perception of corruption' index. The survey, by watchdog Transparency International, measures what people feel about the corruption in their country. Spain is at the same level as Costa Rica and Brunei and ranks 41 out of 176 countries worldwide, five places below its 2016 position. Denmark was top and the UK came in tenth place worldwide.
