They marched 11 kilometres to Malaga city centre and spent over two hours demanding their rights. On Friday, Tivoli World staff once again called for the park to reopen, accompanied by the CC OO and UGT unions, as part of a long protest which began in the Ikea car park and ended in the Alameda Principal, where theybriefly met the Junta de Andalucía's representative, Patricia Navarro, and urged the regional government to start talks with the Tremón company, which owns Tivoli World.

"We will keep fighting for Tivoli to stay open, and for all the jobs. There has to be dialogue and an agreement has to be reached,"insisted Lola Villalba, general secretary of Services at CC OO.

About 150 people took part in the march, which was the longest so far. They walked along the N340 highway, Avenida Pacífico and Avenida Manuel Agustín Heredia to the city centre, carrying a banner and placards saying 'No to the closure'. "Come and join us, Tivoli is for everyone, we must not lose it," they shouted.

"We need Tremón to sit down with us and give us the opportunity to open the park and show that it is viable and it can work. We will never stop fighting for that," said Jessica and Laura, who work on the catering side. "We have a lot of support, and we are not going to give up," they stressed.

After speaking to Patricia Navarro, Lola Villalba said she had expressed her support. "She said she would ring the mayor of Benalmádena to work together and get Tremón to sit down and negotiate, although she also reminded us that nobody can force the company to open the park," she said. "We believe Tremón wants to leave Tivoli closed, and wait for it to go into liquidation. That would be easiest and more profitable for them, but we will fight on."
