  • The regional president announced a new three-phased easing of restrictions as night curfew ends and opening hours are extended

When the state of alarm imposed by the central government to curb the spread of coronavirus comes to an end this Sunday 9 May, restrictions will be relaxed across the country.

In Andalucía, the regional president, Juanma Moreno, has announced a three-phased process of 'normalisation' starting on Sunday.

All of the new restrictions will depend on areas remaining in certain Covid-19 alert levels.

The end of the state of alarm means an end to the night curfew and movement across regional borders will no longer be restricted.

In the first phase in Andalucía, from 9 to 31 May, bars and restaurants will be allowed to stay open until 12 midnight.

Groups of up to eight people will be allowed to sit together inside establishments while ten people can get together on outdoor terraces.

Nightclubs will also be able to open until 2am, although with limitations.

There will no longer be a limit on the number of people who can get together in private homes.

Movement will no longer be banned across the regional border of Andalucía from Sunday.
