Council seeks to reactivate plans to create large public park near famous Marbella arch

The 43,918 square metres of land will have walking routes as well as areas dedicated to the practice of sport

Marbella mayor Ángeles Muñoz this week said that she hoped the land at Finca El Pinillo, next to the famous arch, would become council property again by the summer so that it could be converted into a large, public park (the contract granted for a similar project during the Gil era never materialised).

"The idea is that it will be a big, green area that complements all the new stretches of promenades that are being undertaken and that are adding value to our coast," she said.

The land, divided into three plots, covers a total of 43,918 square metres and will have walking routes as well as areas dedicated to the practice of sport. The most northernly part will house a car park.
