Torremolinos town hall has launched an initiative to support younger members of the LGBT community in situations of vulnerability and social exclusion.

The project, carried out with the assistance of Inserta Andalucía and financed by the Junta de Andalucía, will provide accommodation for five young people. The proposal aims to help people subjected to discrimination because of sexual preference to access the job market and integrate socially.

General Director of Equal Treatment and Diversity of the Junta de Andalucía Ángel Mora said: "We respond to a very important request from the entire LGBT collective. It is hard to believe that young people are still victimised and thrown out of their homes because they belong to this community."

Councillor for Equality Carmen García said, "Torremolinos has always been known to be the cradle of integration, diversity and solidarity, and today we will demonstrate this once again."
