National Police officers in Marbella broke up seven unauthorised parties in the Costa del Sol town at the weekend and 100 people face fines for flouting Covid-19 rules.

The events took place in several buildings, including a hotel and two bars, and resulted in more than 100 people being reported for failing to comply with the Junta de Andalucía’s measures to contain the spread of infections caused by the Sars-Cov-2 virus.

Police said that participants broke rules including the permitted maximum number of people congregated in a space, wearing masks and social distancing.

Tip-offs from the public led to the police actions.

The National Police said that over the weekend, across the province of Malaga, a total of 756 people had been reported for failing to comply with the pandemic health measures.
