Andalucía has registered a new record number of coronavirus infections this Thursday with the confirmation of 7,409 new cases of Covid-19, which represents the highest daily number recorded during the entire pandemic, according to official data.
There have also been 54 deaths registered, six less than the day before and 25 more than the number on the same day last week.
The region has also seen an increase in the incidence rate of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days to 740.5, a figure that is 66.2 points higher than the 674.3 on Wednesday and 335.4 points more than seven days ago (405.1).
Malaga is the province with the most positives, with 1,652, followed by Seville with 1,216 and Cadiz with 1,133. Below a thousand infections are Granada with 865, Cordoba with 707, Almeria with 704, Huelva with 591 and Jaén with 541.
The 54 deaths registered in the last 24 hours are lower than the 61 of the day before and much higher than the 29 of last Thursday. Malaga is also the province that registers the most deaths, with 15, followed by Cadiz with 13, Seville with seven, Granada with six, Jaén with five, Cordoba with four and Almeria and Huelva with two each.
