Andalucía adds 5,922 Covid-19 positives and 61 deaths as incidence rate climbs to 678.3

Andalucía has added 5,922 new cases of Covid-19 coronavirus this Wednesday, 20 January, lower than the 6,882 registered on the same day last week when the daily record for the entire pandemic was reached.

The region has seen the incidence rate of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days climb to 678.3, a figure that is 35.6 points higher than the 642.7 of Tuesday and 318.3 more than seven days ago (360).

Seville is the province with the most positives with 1,244, followed by Malaga with 1,217. Following behind are Cadiz with 811, Granada with 696, Cordoba with 587, Almeria with 577, Huelva with 462 and Jaén with 328.

The 61 deaths registered are lower than the 67 of Tuesday but much higher than the 35 of last Wednesday. Seville is the province with the most deaths, with 16, followed by Malaga with 13, Cadiz with eleven, Granada with eight, Jaén with seven, Cordoba with four and Almeria with three. Due to an adjustment in the data, Huelva has one less deceased than the day before.
