The Andalusian regional government has announced it will carry out mass Covid-19 screenings in 49 towns and villages in "the next few days" according to a statement from the Junta.
The dates will be announced shortly and people invited to participate in the voluntarily tests will receive a text message notification with information about where they will be performed and the times of the sessions.
In Malaga province, they will take place in Almargen, Cañete la Real, Mollina, Villanueva del Rosario, Alcaucín, Alfarnate, Arenas, Benamocarra, Canillas de Albaida, Comares, Sayalonga, Alhaurín de la Torre, Alora, Ardales, Marbella and Cartajima.
All these locations, with the exception of Marbella, are included in the list of municipalities that exceed 500 accumulated incidence cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days and therefore, their municipal borders are closed.
In Almeria, mass screenings will be carried out in Albox, Carboneras, Chirivel, Cuevas de Almanzora, Mojácar and Sorbas, while in Cadiz these tests will take place in Trebujena, San José del Valle, Sanlúcar de Barrameda, Jerez de la Frontera and San Fernando.
In the province of Cordoba, tests will be carried out in Rute, Pozoblanco, Peñarroya-Pueblonuevo, El Carpio and Benamejí. In addition, Cortegana, Alosno, Isla Cristina and Villalba del Alcor will be the municipalities in Huelva with mass virus screening sessions.
In Granada tests will be carried out in Moclín and Padul, while in Jaén these screenings will take place in Villatorres, Valdepeñas de Jaén, Los Villares, Baeza, Arroyo del Ojanco, Torres and Segura de la Sierra.
Meanwhile, in the province of Seville, they will be held in Algámitas, El Garrobo, El Viso del Alcor and La Puebla de Cazalla.
